A Sensory PLAY Class is an adult and me style play-based class that focuses on purposeful, intentional, educational PLAY. The class is inspired by Montessori principles. It focus on the whole child – their social and emotional development, their physical abilities, and their academic achievements – all through play!

Classes begin at 5 months and ends at 4 years.
Depending on who signs up for class and the various age ranges, we will make changes to the class times/ages as needed.
Classes end at 4 years old solely because many of our kiddos go off to preschool. If your little one is older than 4 and you are interested in class, let us know. Depending on the age range requested and the interest from others, we could potentially create another older kids class.
Classes range in size from three kiddos to approximately eleven kiddos. Space is limited and spots are filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
With babies, we focus on the same skills we are learning in all of our PLAY classes, with a higher emphasis on the sensorial, tactile experiences. We put out many sensory focused toys that utilize and activate our senses – hearing, touching, seeing, smelling, vestibular, proprioceptive, and occasionally, tasting. They have various grips, textures, and sounds. The babies have access to everything in the classroom that isn’t a choking hazard. The older kiddos have access to more open-ended toys, especially loose part toys. They also get to use our amazing sensory table.
Our classes are participatory, giving you the opportunity to connect with your little one and other adults in an environment that is safe, offline, and has limited distractions. All of the activities we showcase introduce your little one to socialization opportunities, fine and gross motor activations, and cognitive development and deductive reasoning prompts. In this class, your little one gets to experience new faces, new spaces, and new experiences, all facilitated by a play expert who teaches you and your little one how to take any toy or game and turn it into a fun learning tool. Our classes allow you to get to experience a “school-like environment” with your little one while getting your cup filled too.
Open-ended toys are toys without specific directions, allowing us to engage with them in whatever way we choose. It activates our creativity, critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and innovation skills. For example, a ball can be used to teach colors, matching, sound, capacity, weight, gross motor functioning, and language skills. The great thing about open-ended toys is that because there are endless ways to play, the same toy can be engaging for a baby and a big kid – the only difference is how we play.
Critical thinking is the ability to observe something and use deductive reasoning and your personal values system to make a decision that feels right to you. It allows you to think as an individual, rather than falling prey to group think. With over 20 years of formal education, Miss Stacey found this to be THE most important skill she learned. It taught her to question, to not take anything at face value, and to form her own opinions. No matter what your beliefs are, we believe critical thinking is an invaluable skillset that will allow your little one to thrive as they age. We foster critical thinking by often asking questions like: I wonder what happens if we do this, what if we tried using the toy this way instead, hmm what do you think will happen, or by observing how other people interact and act. Our goal is to teach little ones that there are many ways to go about and interpret a situation.
Babies, and humans in general, learn through engaging our senses. It’s how we make sense of the world. That’s why the first thing your little one does is put a toy in their mouth – they are exploring how the toy works by first understanding how it feels. Through tactile stimulation, we are activating our bodies and brains

If space allows it, you are sometimes able to bring a baby sibling to the older kid class for play. This is decided on a case by case basis as it depends on the kiddos in the particular class and the total number of kids. If the baby is under 5 months, they can come free of charge if space allows. Otherwise, our drop in rates apply.
If space allows it, you are sometimes able to bring an older sibling to the babies class for play. This is decided on a case by case basis as it depends on the number of babies in class, how your little one engages in the class with so many little babies around, and if the group isn’t bothered by it. Our focus in this class is on the babies first. We will of course, play with your big kiddo too, but the goal is that the babies can play and move freely without the parents and Miss Stacey having to worry about the little ones getting stepped on. Our space is a YES space so when your older one comes to class and they can’t play as freely as they normally do, it can be tough for them. This is why these decisions are always made on a case by case basis. We want every kiddos and parent to have the best experience. When the older sibling is allowed in class, our drop in rates apply.

Yes, our precious baby, Play Play Play! with Miss Stacey. This show is one of our true joys in life. A highlight for sure. In the show, Miss Stacey engages in slow-paced, purposeful play aimed at sparking critical thinking and learning. In the show, Miss Stacey plays with art, whips up pretend food in her play kitchen, hosts dinner parties, explores new toys, builds, counts, makes patterns, and learns the alphabet. She plays with playdough, kinetic sand, slime, and sensory bins. She plays with musical instruments, goes on adventures, sings, and gets silly. This show is the perfect complimentary tool for early childhood learning and preschool learning for toddlers. Join the fun and expand your little one’s mind! While playing, Miss Stacey always narrates out loud. Her hope is that your little ones will apply the skills and curiosity to their play at home.
Selling products is not our passion so it’s not a focus for us at the moment. That being said, we have our own branded sensory toys that are so fun, engaging, and stimulating for your little ones. Please reach out via direct message or email if you would like one of our Play Play Play! Products.
